Abstract:
The project focuses on the spread of invasive alien species in connection with tourism, landscape fragmentation, and the use of ornamental plants and aquaculture. Its aim is to change the perception of this issue among both professional and general public and to limit the spread of invasive species into the wild. A key role is played by professional groups such as garden and landscape architects and green-care professionals, for whom the project provides scientifically sound information and practical recommendations. Emphasis is placed on applying scientific knowledge in the establishment and management of green spaces. The project also includes educational and awareness-raising activities aimed at the general public, including children. The project promotes an interdisciplinary approach and cooperation across professional and stakeholder groups. The project outputs will contribute to more responsible selection of species for cultivation, limiting their spread into the natural environment, and strengthening the prevention and, where necessary, management of alien and invasive species.
